Mark Baral is a landscape and still life painter originally from the Midwest. Throughout his life Mark has consistently and intensely pursued art in various forms. At age 15, he had the opportunity to take private lessons with internationally renowned artist, Adam Clague. Over the next three years Adam instilled in Mark the fundamentals of figure drawing and a love for outdoor painting. When it came time to continue his training after high school, Mark chose Pensacola Christian College, Adam’s alma mater, and majored in Studio Art.

During his time at PCC, Mark gained a proficient knowledge of the fundamentals of traditional drawing and painting with a personal emphasis on painting from life. He credits instructors such as Nathan Drushinin and Brian Jekel with deepening his understanding and practice of drawing, values, edges, and color. Mark Graduated from PCC with his MFA in Studio Art in 2023.

Since his time with Adam, Mark has also enjoyed opportunities to take workshops with G. Russell Case, Dan Gerhartz, Tim Cunningham, Josh Clare, and Daniel Keys.

He is grateful to his Savior, Jesus Christ, for the ability to pursue representing beauty every day.
